It’s been a long haul, but we’ve finally launched the latest updates to My Studio Assistant! We’ve made a lot of improvements to help show your art in its best light, plus some key changes to keep up with advances in search engine and mobile device technologies.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Website templates – more layouts, all ready to go just as they are, plus lots more options for customizing the design and styling of your website
  • Typefaces – an expanded and completely updated set of typefaces to choose from
  • Colours – a much wider range of available background and accent colours
  • Titles – more title styling options for your website
  • Navigation menus – updated styling and design options for your site’s main navigation menu
  • Image thumbnails – lots of new options for styling your catalog and portfolio thumbnails, including some exciting new hover effects

  • More site content – more opportunities to add search engine-friendly descriptive text to the sidebars of each page on your site, plus the option to add links for ‘professional affiliations’ directly onto your profile page
  • Mobile devices – loads of exciting design, styling, and technical improvements to how your site performs on smartphones and tablets
  • Social media – major improvements to how links to your social media pages are included and displayed throughout your website
  • Content management – loads of organizational and styling improvements to the content and account management sections of My Studio Assistant
  • Search visibility – lots of improvements to the technical underpinnings of your website, making it easier to get noticed and ranked by Google, Bing, and the other search engines
  • Overall performance – all website templates and most of My Studio Assistant’s “internal engine” have been rebuilt to make things work faster and more smoothly

Plenty  more improvements and new features will be arriving over the next several months. We’ll keep you posted as we get them ready!

Major Upgrade Announcement

Lot of improvements!

We’ll be releasing the next major upgrade to My Studio Assistant over the next several days. There are a lot of exciting improvements included in this new version!

So what’s changed?

While most of the upgrades are of a ‘behind-the-scenes’ technical nature, many will also affect the look of your website. Mostly, we’ve added a whole bunch of new website design templates plus some key improvements to the site design tools.

(FYI, the design tools are still a work in progress, but I think you’ll like the new direction we’re taking.)

We’ve also streamlined most of the tools used to upload and manage the contents of your website, as well as the account management tools. We’ll update you with more details over the following weeks.

Why are we doing this?

To add the many new functions and features our subscribers have been requesting over the past year, we first needed to upgrade the underlying technologies that make My Studio Assistant work. Many of those requests are already implemented in this new version. Others will follow in quick succession over the next several months.

How this affects you:

We’ll let you know as soon as we finish making the switch – likely within the next 24 hours assuming all goes well. Once we’ve gone live with the new version, you’ll most likely only notice the improvements, but please let us know ASAP if you do run into anything unexpected so we can set things right.

Cheers, Arnold & Arsen
— Team MSA

P.S. To help you take full advantage of the latest upgrades, we’re offering a free one-on-one website design review. We can do this in person, over skype or telephone, or even by email if you prefer – just let us know and we can schedule a time.

New features added!

Private Portfolios

Now you can make any portfolio ‘private’ in just one click! Private portfolios are only accessible by someone to whom you’ve given the link – you can even add an optional password.*

To make a portfolio private, open ‘portfolio options’ – click the button toward the top-right of the portfolio section – and check “Make this a private portfolio”. That’s it – just copy the link and send it to the people you want! If you need more security, simply type in a password and then send it along with the link.

Website Themes, Colors & More

We’ve added 23 new colour themes to help you personalize your website. We’ve even included some attractive textured background patterns! Plus we’ve added 14 new accent colors – accents colors are used for borders and link hover effects on your website.

Plus another new feature lets you preview your website’s design as it will appear on tablets and smartphones at the click of a button.

To use these new design features, click “Website” in the main menu, then click on the “Design” button in the task menu that will appear on the left side of the screen.

Click here to try out these new features now!

Keep the feedback & suggestions coming!

As always, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or if something doesn’t behave the way you think it should. We’ll get back to you ASAP.

P.S. There’s more on the way… we’ll soon be releasing a new set of tools to help you organize, submit, and track proposals and submissions for grants, juries, galleries, curators, residencies, etc. – we’ll keep you posted!

* Private portfolios are included with Pro & Ultra subscription plans.
